Caring Herts CIC is committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy explains what we do with your personal data when you visit our website, fill out a contact form or make an online payment. This privacy policy also explains the ways you can control how your data is used. Caring Herts CIC never has and never will sell, swap or share your personal information with any organisation or third party for their own marketing purposes.

We are Caring Herts CIC, founded by Jeanette Farrow in 2026 to combat loneliness and social isolation in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage. Our main contact details are as follows:

What information we collect & why

When visitors fill out a contact form on the website, we collect the personal data (name, email address and phone number) submitted in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Sensitive data concerning your health may also be collected if this is submitted within a contact form, so that we can offer you the most appropriate support.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

What rights you have over your data

  • Your right of access: You can request to receive an exported file of the data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Who we share your data with

We use Stripe, a third-party payment gateway, to handle online payments. Your transaction data is collected by Stripe and may include some personal data. Caring Herts CIC will only record your name, email address, and amount and date of your purchase in order to record and manage payments.

How long we retain your data

If you submit a contact form, the data submitted and its metadata are retained for as long as you access our services. This is so we can recognise and refer back to any comments made in future conversations.

Where your data is sent

Contact form submissions may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Cookies

If you fill out a contact form on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
